Over the last week I have submerged myself in all things photography. After my hubby, kids, and dogs have gone to bed, I have snuck downstairs to the computer and absorbed. I have jumped from photographer to photographer. Learning sites. Blogs about photography. I am amazed at all the talent & beauty.
It has started a little fire within me.
I want to be better.
I want to take images that speak to people.
I want to leave and impression.
I want my photography to be authentic.
The Photo Share project I have been a part of the last three weeks has definitely helped motivate me to create. I have enjoyed thinking of one word each week and trying to interpret it with an image. I'm not going to ever get where I want to be if I don't practice, if I'm not continually learning and taking pictures. The Photo Share project has already taught me so much in such a short amount of time.
So, I was very excited when I ran across another challenge the other day.
It's The 52 Project.
"A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014."
I love taking photos of my kids, but this little project will help hold me accountable and make sure I snap at at least one photo of each girl, each week. I don't want to commit to too many things, but I feel like this will be a wonderful experience. I'm very excited about it. I'm anxious to capture my girls just being girls, document their personalities, our days together, and practice my photography on my most favorite subjects. I urge you to read about the project yourself. See why it was started and maybe even participate with me.
I am starting a bit late. I believe they are on week 3 already, but I am starting with 1...now.
Sue: 6 months and getting so independent.
Lou: To make bath time a bit more interesting I sometimes add food coloring. On this day Emmy was practicing going under water, little by little. She's to her ears now, just a bit more practicing.
Boo: She is in her own little world on the other side of the tub. I love taking picture of Bailey because she gets so serious and so involved with what she's doing. I can take pictures of her and she doesn't even notice I'm there.
Only one week down and I cannot wait for the next. I loved taking the time to capture each girl individually, sneaking in a few photos when they weren't paying attention. I can tell this 52 project is really going to have an effect on me. Already I am about in tears as I post these pictures of my three most beautiful blessings. I cannot imagine life without them.

Now this is a challenge I should really join in. I hate when months go by and I've hardly gotten my camera out. I just die seeing these sweet pictures of your kids. They have the sweetest personalities - but I mostly love seeing how you see them and getting a glimpse of the things you love about being a mother. It is so very inspiring.
